1985 Masters (snooker)

The 1985 Benson and Hedges Masters took place between January 27 and February 3, 1985 at the Wembley Conference Centre. The highest break of the tournament was 103 made by Cliff Thorburn.

The Top 16 ranked players took part in the competition. The prize money was £150,000. The first round match between Alex Higgins and Steve Davis on January 29 turned out to be one of the all time greatest matches between the pair when Higgins won 5-4 in front of an ecstatic Wembley crowd. The final on February 3 gave Cliff Thorburn his 2nd Masters title when he beat Doug Mountjoy 9-6 making the second person to hold the Masters title.
